The centre runs its own programmes of talent identification and introduction of judo to school children across boroughs of East London (Judokids with Tessa Sanderson); involvement of visually impaired children and adults into judo as a recreational activity and a sport (BlindJudo); identification and development of potential 2012 Olympians and members of GBR Squads (High Performance Judo)

2012 Team has completed the block of most strenuous conditioning training in altitude in Spain. Well done girls !
Tonbridge Wells saw great performance from Newham Judo Club players this weekend. Tomas and Edvinas took GOLD, Harry and Kevin SILVER, Theodor - BRONZE. Great end of the season !
London International tournament for senior players. Staged over the weekend of May, 29-30 in the venue of 2012 Olympic Games Excel Arena. All club senior players participate.
London Area Open Age band tournament. Ideal for the club development squads 1999-1998 and 1996-1997.
Olympic Champion, Tessa Sanderson CBE, visited Newham Judo Club and met children from local schools practicing judo as part of her JudoKids programme aimed on introduction of judo to schools.
First Newham Primary schools championships took place in NCFE on February, 26, 2010. 50 participants from 6 primary schools competed for medals and trophies provided by Tessa Sanderson Foundation. Brampton, Odessa and Hartley primary schools are leading in the number of Gold and Silver medals.
Jerad Sankareh took GOLD at Northbrook MiniMon Level 2 competition. Well done !
John Craig took Bronze in 73 kg at Lithuania Open Judo Championships this weekend, one of the few international events for visually impaired athletes in Europe. This is a great achievement for the young member of Tessa Sanderson Newham Sports Academy and his second medal in the international events of such caliber. Well done, John !

Four club players took part in International Training camp in Tonbridge this weekend: Anton, Elena, Szandra and John. Great experience: 20-25 randories every day with 240 participants from 12 countries, including such as Ukraine, Belorus, Kazkhstan, Macedonia, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, etc.... Well done guys !
